1.4-Butanediol (C4H10O2) Applications :

1. 1.4-Butanediol has a wide range of uses. For the production of gamma-butyrolactone and polybutylene terephthalate, the latter being a rapidly developing engineering plastic. 1.4-butanediol is used as a chain extender and polyester raw material for the production of polyurethane elastomers and flexible polyurethane foam.

The esters made from 1.4-butanediol are good plasticizers for cellulose and polyesters. 1.4-Butanediol has good hygroscopic flexibility and can be used as gelatin softener and treatment agent for cellophane and other unused paper.

BDO can also prepare N-methylpyrrolidone, N-vinylpyrrolidone and other pyrrolidone derivatives, also used in the preparation of vitamin B6, pesticides, herbicides and the role of a variety of process solvents, lubricants, humidifiers, softness, adhesives and intermediates in the electroplating industry brightener, solvent, wetting agent, plasticizer.

1.4-Butanediol Storage Method:

Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse, away from fire. Keep the container sealed, store away from oxidizer and store away from water source. Spill response equipment and suitable storage materials should be available. Can be stored in sealed containers made of soft steel, aluminum or copper.
